The PhDNet Equal Opportunities work group conducted a mini-survey last year to gauge the state-of-affairs in the MPIs. Good news is that most participating Doctoral Researchers did not face cases of violation of Equal Opportunities. We also came to know of inspiring good practices in place in some of the institutes. That said, there remains a few bad apples which need to be carefully eliminated. We hope that this survey throws light on areas where reforms are necessary - either in the form of policies, or much needed change in people's mindsets.
