In this episode, Allison and Sandra continue their conversation with Dr. Sofia Forslund, group leader at the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine. They discuss the importance of having role models, specifically in someone who is similar to yourself. Sofia talks about what it means to be an ally and how to create an inclusive and welcoming environment in the context of academia. The conversation also focuses on tokenizing, why forced or artificial inclusivity can feel so draining, and the importance of anti-discriminatory policies, with some bright outlook for the future.
